The Hospital:

The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) provides secondary and tertiary care to children and young people across the northern and western suburbs; specialist paediatric healthcare to the children of Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and parts of South Australia; and is the designated state-wide provider of services including paediatric trauma, rehabilitation and forensic medicine. As a quaternary centre for complex cardiac surgery and organ transplantation, the RCH cares for the sickest children from around Australia.

The Role:

The main function of this position is to ensure the provision of advice and assistance on all WorkCover matters, to all staff, with a strong preventative focus.

This involves participation in the development and further improvement of the RCH Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Management System and WorkCover training as required.

The role will also focus on the achievement of WHS objectives through the provision of quality customer focused services and undertake organisation wide WorkCover and WHS projects in line with RCH People & Culture strategy and act as subject matter expert for all WorkCover issues.

 

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Previous experience with the SAP payroll system is desirable
  • Problem solving skills – complex WorkCover matters and dealing with difficult enquiries and interpersonal challenges
  • Effective stakeholder management and proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships, forming links with all areas of the business to support the achievement of objectives and goals;
  • Demonstrate RCH values individually and an ability to promote a values-based culture across the organisation;
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work to tight deadlines in a dynamic fast moving environment;
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills;
  • Ability to accept advice and direction in a constructive and mature manner and exhibit change as appropriate
