The Role:

RCH has an excellent opportunity for a Biomedical Engineer to join the Biomedical Engineering team and help to maintain comprehensive service delivery to the hospital within a supportive team environment.

 

Biomedical Engineering provides a comprehensive range of technical and administrative services relating to the ongoing support of medical, laboratory and audio-visual equipment.

 

Biomedical Engineering services include equipment repairs, routine maintenance, safety and performance testing, acceptance testing, hazard alert and recall management, electrical area testing, equipment related incident investigation, technology replacement planning, education and training, acquisition and replacement advice, advice and guidance relating to infrastructure and design.

 

This rare opportunity requires a person with:

  • Formal qualifications in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent;
  • Eligible for membership to Engineers Australia or ACPSEM;
  • A knowledge of the relevant Australian and International Standards & their application to medical equipment;
  • An ability to communicate with clinical staff and management
  • Self-motivation;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task;
  • Excellent technical skills and a working knowledge of electronics; ventilation; anaesthesia; patient monitoring and medical IT systems
