The Role:

 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a  Clinical Nurse Consultant Lead to join the Infection Prevention and Control team. This role functions as the nursing leader within a multi-disciplinary team. This role is responsible for the strategic leadership of the Infection Prevention and Control service at the Royal Children’s Hospital within the framework of national guidelines and the ACHS National Standards 3 for Preventing and Controlling Healthcare Associated Infections.


This position is responsible for the coordination of team activities including surveillance, staff immunisation, hand hygiene compliance data collection, reporting of activities internally and hospital KPI’s to external bodies.


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • A minimum of eight years post registration experience.
  • Post graduate qualification in Infection Control/Sterilisation (desirable).
  • Experience in data collection and analysis.
  • Accredited Nurse Immuniser (desirable).
  • Paediatric experience (desirable).
  • Infection prevention experience
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Pre and Post Test Counselling, HIV Hepatitis C (desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience providing effective education to members of the multidisciplinary teams.
