The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) provides secondary and tertiary care to children and young people across the northern and western suburbs; specialist paediatric healthcare to the children of Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and parts of South Australia; and is the designated state-wide provider of services including paediatric trauma, rehabilitation and forensic medicine. As a quaternary centre for complex cardiac surgery and organ transplantation, the RCH cares for the sickest children from around Australia.

The position:

As a NUM you will lead by example and provide management and leadership to staff within the theatre environment to ensure clinical practice and delivery of care provided by staff is safe and evidence based.


We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional who strives to deliver excellent patient and family care in a team focused environment, with demonstrated management and leadership skills.


To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Extensive experience in surgical nursing
  • Evidence of on-going professional development as reflected in Professional Practice Portfolio
  • Post Graduate qualification in surgical or paediatric nursing (desirable)
  • Previous paediatric experience (desirable)
