The Role: Children’s Neuroscience Centre Office Manager

A position has become available for a dynamic and energetic person to take on the role of managing the very busy Neuroscience Centre at the Children’s Hospital. The Children’s Neuroscience Centre comprises both the RCH Neurology and Neurosurgery departments. This a challenging and diverse role providing financial, operational and administrative support to a team of more than 50 people, including medical specialists (neurologists and neurosurgeons), neurophysiology scientists, trainee doctors, nursing and administration staff. 


You will be responsible for: 

  • Providing business leadership and program management expertise to the Neurology and Neurosurgery Departments.
  • Managing departmental finances through monitoring the departmental inpatient and outpatient billing process and reports.  
  • Monitoring payment of clinical and research staff members.
  • Providing reports to RCH Foundation, MCRI, Melbourne University.
  • Assisting with the hiring of new staff for the departments. 
  • Supporting new staff, affiliated medical officers and students.  
  • Handling purchasing and administrative needs for the Children’s Neuroscience Centre.  
  • Ensuring that the hospital Policy and Procedures manual is adhered to.

Ideally you will: 

  • Have 5+ years Health Manager experience in paediatrics
  • Have a post-graduate qualification in management
  • Be able to work autonomously.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
