Salary:                    $98,000 per annum (pro-rata)    

Location:                Parkville – Hub of the medical precinct and leading Children’s hospital

The Position:

The Gastroenterology Nurse Consultant (CNC) is an expert nurse with advanced theoretical and clinical skills who will become a member of The Royal Children's Hospital, Gastroenterology & Clinical Nutrition. The Gastroenterology CNC will work with the director of department, Gastroenterologists, fellows, Paediatricians, Liver Nurse Coordinators, Clinical Nutrition CNC, Intestinal Transplant CNC, PEG nurses, allied staff as well as inpatient nurses to provide a comprehensive Gastro Nursing at the RCH. The Gastroenterology CNC will lead paediatric Gastroenterology research activities, including the promotion and representation of the Gastroenterology research activates, the promotion and representation of the RCH Gastroenterology Nursing both nationally and internationally. The Gastroenterology CNC will lead in collaboration with Director of the Gastroenterology services the quality improvement activities and projects for the service including complex patients with many underlying gastrointestinal conditions, including patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Motility issues, Liver disease, Intestinal and liver failure and other general GI conditions.

 

To be successful in the role, you will have;

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Extensive experience as a paediatric Gastroenterology Clinical Nurse Consultant.
  • Post-Graduate qualification in paediatric nursing.
