The Role:

The Medical Imaging department is seeking a medical receptionist to provide “front of house” receptionist, telephonist and clerical services.  Primarily duties will include carrying out patient bookings, patient registrations and admission functions.


You will be responsible for: 

  • Provision of high-level customer focused reception functions, representing the Medical Imaging Department (MID).
  • Being the first point of contact for MID receiving telephone enquiries and person to person contact.
  • Creating and coordinating patient bookings, registrations and admissions across the various modalities within MID.
  • Liaising with multidisciplinary teams throughout the RCH in the management of patient bookings and MID lists.
  • Database management and entry within the required systems (RIS, PACS, EMR, IBA).
  • Dealing with and escalating as required, patient concerns or issues.
  • Processing patient and clinician requests for imaging CDs and scanning of existing images into PACS.
  • Assist with inter-hospital electronic image transfer process, ensuring appropriate paperwork and processes are followed.
  • Compliance to relevant legislation and regulatory body requirements.

  • Highly developed verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to apply these skills to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand the motivations of others and to provide information and decisions in a sensitive and considered manner
  • Highly developed attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand how departmental processes fit within and affect organisational processes, to ensure the delivery of an effective and efficient service.
