The Role:

An exciting opportunity exists to join the established team of music therapists at The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne. We are seeking an experienced music therapist to provide clinical music therapy programmes to neonates and infants within the Royal Children's Hospital under the supervision of the Manager of Music Therapy. The main focus of service delivery will be to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. 

 

Music Therapy at RCH is part of the Allied Health directorate and the team consists of 7 Registered Music Therapists who provide clinical music therapy services to children and adolescents with a range of medical conditions.

Selection Criteria Essential: Current Registration with the Australian Music Therapy Association
Essential: Previous work with newborns or infants
Desirable: Previous experience of Music Therapy within a Hospital or Health related context
Desirable: Working knowledge of music therapy for newborns and infants
Desirable: Working knowledge of family centred and infant focussed programming
Desirable: Motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Desirable: Well-developed interpersonal skills
Desirable: Able to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable: Excellent time management skills and an ability to prioritise will support work in this area
