The Role: 

A part time Consultant Paediatric Respiratory Physician is required to cover sabbatical leave within the Department of Respiratory & Sleep Medicine at The Royal Children's Hospital campus in Parkville. The role encompasses specialist outpatient review and management of new and review patients across a broad range of clinical paediatric respiratory medicine including long-term ventilation and cystic fibrosis. Availability for clinics Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, and clinical meetings on Wednesday mornings, will be required. 


You will be responsible for:

  • Providing medical consultation in specialist outpatient clinics in respiratory medicine, including neuromuscular, respiratory support and Cystic Fibrosis
  • Liaising with parents/carers and external healthcare providers in relation to treatment plans and procedures
  • Participation in weekly meeting in Radiology, Ventilation and Research
  • Working in partnership with other medical, nursing and allied health professional staff to provide excellent medical services for inpatients and outpatients

You will have

  • Demonstrated capacity to work harmoniously and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in paediatric long-term ventilation
  • Experience in Cystic Fibrosis
  • FRACP or equivalent College Fellowship in Respiratory Medicine 
  • Specialist Medical Registration with AHPRA
