Position Summary

Associate Nurse Unit Manger – Sugar Glider – Medical Care 


Employment: Part time, fixed term parental leave

Salary:           $97,770.40 - $101.056.80 (pro-rata)

Location:       Parkville – Hub of the medical precinct and leading Children’s hospital

The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) provides secondary and tertiary care to children and young people across the northern and western suburbs; specialist paediatric healthcare to the children of Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and parts of South Australia; and is the designated state-wide provider of services including paediatric trauma, rehabilitation and forensic medicine. As a quaternary centre for complex cardiac surgery and organ transplantation, the RCH cares for the sickest children from around Australia.

The Position:


We currently have two part time fixed term positions available as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager within our Sugar Glider Ward – Medical Care.


Sugar Glider - Medical Care is a specialist medical unit where a multidisciplinary team cares for children and infants with a diverse range of acute and chronic illnesses.


The unit has four medical specialties: General Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, ENT and Developmental Medicine.


The ANUM is crucial in supporting the development of the nursing team on the unit and ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family centred care in a team focused environment. 


To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Professional Practice Portfolio (PPP).
  • Recent experience in an acute, medical, surgical, and/or speciality area of nursing.
