The role:

 

The Nurse Educator, Paediatric Intensive Care Subject Co-ordinator is responsible for the coordination and delivery of teaching paediatric Intensive Care Nursing within the specialty graduate nursing practice program.

The Nursing Subject Co-ordinator will work directly with the program and academic coordinator of the Graduate Certificate in Nursing Practice (Paediatrics) at University of Melbourne to support the delivery of the speciality of paediatric Intensive Care Nursing.

The Clinical Nurse Educator is an advanced clinical nurse who stimulates enquiry, reflection and the use of evidence in clinical practice to promote excellence in family centered care and advance practice change.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  •  Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Masters in Nursing, Education, Paediatrics or equivalent
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience of adult learning principles
  • Extensive paediatric clinical experience
  • Experience working with learning management systems
  • Preceptorship experience and knowledge
  • Small or large group teaching experience

 

It is also desirable that you will have:

  • Project or program management experience
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment or equivalent
  • Relevant recent clinical experience within an acute care setting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated skills in developing and evaluating education programs
