The Role:

A part time Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist appointment to the Children’s Pain Management Clinic (CPMC). The CPMC is based at The Royal Children's Hospital campus in Parkville.  The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist is part of a multidisciplinary team including Pain Medicine Specialists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists and Occupational Therapists. Multidisciplinary chronic pain assessments and treatment are conducted on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Additional roles include participating in clinical governance, education, research and administration activities of the service. 

 

You will be responsible for:

Psychiatric assessment and treatment of children and / or their parent(s) referred to the CPMC.

  • Working with members of the CPMC multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate solutions for complex clinical presentations.
  • Participation in research, audit and quality improvement projects.
  • Leading and participating in multidisciplinary education activities which may include activities outside RCH
  • Providing professional guidance and support for CPMC staff. 

You will have:

Demonstrated capacity to work harmoniously and collaboratively within a small team

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven leadership skills
  • FRANZCP with Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry 
  • Specialist Medical Registration with AHPRA
