Employment:  Part time, ongoing

Salary:            $93,600k 

Location:         Parkville – Hub of the medical precinct and leading Children’s hospital

The Position:

The Nurse Coordinator in the Rosella Unit is a member of the nursing leadership team. Reporting directly to the NUM, the role will utilise and share specialist knowledge, skills and the essence of nursing to ensure excellent and specialist clinical care is provided to the long term and complex patient and family.

The Nurse Coordinator will provide leadership and expertise in identifying the anticipated needs of this patient group and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary teams towards an agreed plan of care. The Nurse Coordinator decreases the LOS in PICU and supports transition to the ward environment.


To be successful in the role, you will have: 

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Professional Practice Portfolio (PPP)


The Rosella Care- Coordinator will be a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurses with Extensive Paediatric Critical Care Experience with a passion to work in a multidisciplinary team to share specialist knowledge, skills and the essence of nursing to ensure excellent and specialist clinical care is provided to long term and complex patient and families within the Intensive Care.

Candidates must possess excellent clinical knowledge and be self-directed. The successful candidate will have highly effective communication and organizational skills to work with families and the multidisciplinary team. This candidate will also have an interest in quality improvement and will have contributed to improving care processes and outcomes on the Unit.
