Paediatric Integrated Cancer Service (PICS) 

The PICS is a partnership between The Royal Children’s Hospital, Monash Children’s Hospital and Peter McCallum Cancer Centre.  The aim of the collaboration is to improve the planning and delivery of care for children with cancer across Victoria.

 

The role:

We currently have an opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Consultant to join the LTFP team to deliver clinical outpatient care for children and adolescents who have entered the survivorship phase of recovery. As the Clinical Nurse Consultant you will attend clinics across The Royal Children’s Hospital, Monash Children’s Hospital and adult tertiary centres, prepare treatment summary information for the LTFP multidisciplinary clinics and complete outpatient referrals and post clinic documentation and correspondence. The role includes provision of advice to community health care providers, liaising with community and adult health service teams and providing professional and parent, child and adolescent education. To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Current Nursing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Paediatric nursing experience, with a minimum of five years in an acute setting
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development as reflected in Professional Practice Portfolio
  • A post-graduate qualification or willing to work towards, will be highly regarded
  • Chemotherapy accreditation by the Children's Cancer Centre at the RCH / Monash Children’s Hospital or equivalent tertiary hospital (desirable)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in use of chemotherapy protocols and study requirements will be highly regarded
