The Role:

The Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (VPRS) is a state-wide specialist service that caters for the complex rehabilitation needs of children and adolescents recovering from major injury, illness and elective procedures aimed at functional maximisation. The VPRS at The RCH has twelve inpatient rehabilitation beds located in the main hospital, and a large community based service. 

We are seeking an occupational therapist to join the multidisciplinary paediatric rehabilitation team for a part time, fixed term position (maternity backfill). As an occupational therapist with the VPRS at RCH you will provide evidence-based, best practice occupational therapy assessments and interventions for inpatients and outpatients with a variety of conditions including acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy, chronic fatigue syndrome, spinal cord injury, and other neurological conditions.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent
  • Current registration with AHPRA, including meeting the guidelines for Continuing Professional Development.
  • A commitment to uphold the Code of Ethics, Occupational Therapy Australia
  • Experience in a paediatric or rehabilitation occupational therapy setting.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in the rehabilitation management of children and/ or adolescents. =
