The Role:

The Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (VPRS) is a state-wide specialist service which caters for the complex rehabilitation needs of children and adolescents recovering from major injury, illness and elective procedures aimed at functional maximisation. The VPRS at The Royal Children’s Hospital has nine rehabilitation beds located in the main hospital, and a large community based service. 

 

We are seeking clinical psychology registrar to join our multidisciplinary rehabilitation team for a part time, fixed term position. As a psychologist with the VPRS at RCH you will provide evidence-based, best practice psychological assessments and interventions for inpatients and outpatients with a variety of conditions including acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury and other neurological conditions.  You will work closely with the supportive team and provide secondary consultation to other clinicians regarding as well as having access to peer and individual supervision.  This position offers training in paediatric rehabilitation and will include regular supervision to meet the requirements of the Registrar program. 


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology from an APAC accredited university/course
  • General registration as a psychologist with AHPRA
  • A commitment to uphold the PBA Code of Ethics 
  • Eligibility for membership of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists
  • A commitment to working towards AHPRA endorsement in clinical psychology
  • Experience in a paediatric or rehabilitation setting
