Position Summary

Grade 1 Hospital Pharmacist – General Duties/Clinical Services

The Hospital:

The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) provides secondary and tertiary care to children and young people across the northern and western suburbs; specialist paediatric healthcare to the children of Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and parts of South Australia; and is the designated state-wide provider of services including paediatric trauma, rehabilitation and forensic medicine. As a quaternary centre for complex cardiac surgery and organ transplantation, the RCH cares for the sickest children from around Australia.

The Role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to all RCH patients, as directed. Good communication and a strong liaison will be needed with all pharmacy and with specialist nursing and medical staff.


Participation in all pharmacy department work and contribution to pharmacy patient services is expected, including on-call and weekend work allocation.


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • AHPRA registration, as a pharmacist able to practice in Australia
  • Experience as a hospital pharmacist
  • Post-graduate qualifications, or current study towards these – highly regarded
